A year ago at this time, I was getting ready to leave for Spain to study abroad at Berklee College of Music's campus in Valencia, Spain. Two months later, however, I was heading back home due to the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. My gig schedule was severely limited with all of the in-place restrictions, but I was fortunate to perform at some great outdoor events over the summer. The rest of the Spring semester and the following Fall semester were held completely online, but nonetheless, I graduated this month, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance and a Minor in Music Technology. My time at Berklee is not over, though, as I'm headed back to their campus in Valencia, Spain in August on a merit scholarship for their one-year Master's program. I'm so excited to be heading back to Berklee, and Spain!

In January, I accepted a staff position of Admissions Interviewer at Berklee College of Music's Boston Campus. The audition and interview processes allows Berklee to meet the student, listen to them play their instrument, and learn about their backgrounds, interests, and goals while at Berklee. I have done both in-person and remote interviews which always lead to interesting conversations with potential students from around the world.

I'm very fortunate to be spending the spring semester of my Senior year at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain. Located in the iconic City of Arts and Sciences, the magnificent campus has been designed specifically for music and is equipped with state-of-the art technology. I look forward to earning my Minor in Music Technology during my time here.

On Friday, February 4, Berklee a Les Arts presented Abre los Ojos. The show, inspired by Georg Friedrich Händel's iconic work Ariodante, intended to examine how technology and our modern connections have in some ways further closed our eyes to the reality of the world. Photo by Tato Baeza

A select few of the graduate students at Berklee Valencia were invited to write, record, mix, and master a brand-new, original song in the span of ONE WEEK. "Wake Me In Spring" is a song about hope, acceptance of a changing world, and how to face the new reality we live in. I am extremely proud to have been a part of this experience with my Berklee family, and excited to share what we have created!

In January, Berklee hosted their 2022 Berklee Global Career Summit. This four-day conference included more than 30 music industry leaders from over 10 countries participating as speakers and mentors to students. I was honored to be part of the Berklee Showcase Concert that closed the event. I'm playing with Aliyah D. Qualls's project, "Aliyah y Los Chicos!" (We are the last performers in the show, at 1:35 on the video.)

I was so honored and excited to perform at Berklee Valencia's first concert of the year, "Un Lago de Conciertos" (A Lake of Concerts). The concert took place on the floating stage in the City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia, Spain.

I'm grateful for the many opportunities I have here at Berklee Valencia to perform. At this forum concert I'll be playing many of my new original songs that will be featured on my new album as well as my version of some old classics.

September 2019   "You Light Me Up" is quite different than what I've previously released; it's a Big Band song, reminiscent of timeless Frank Sinatra/Crooning tunes or classic Great American Song Book charts. It really swings! Thanks to everyone who helped me on the song: Austin Leshock for arranging the horns and playing Tenor Sax, Ryan Siegal on lead Alto Sax,

Lauren Reilly on Trumpet, Ian Lazan on Trombone,

and Haley Amering on drums. Written, Produced, and Mixed by Kyle Langlois. Piano, Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Bass Clarinet by Kyle Langlois.
